The bright light that evokes a gentle sadness from my soul is the light to my life, a diamond out of coal.
These days are filled with brightness, an everlasting sigh, which fills my lungs with nothing more, not a sob not even a cry.
My life feels like a carousel, taking turns going up then down. Until, one day, the music ends and the lights dim down low, the ride has ended and my life moves forward in a never ending flow.
Sadness is a type of sorrow that beckons a dim light into our lives; this dimness persists in the most golden of glows, the surest sunrises and the most delicate dawns. Yet, only time can turn our dim shadows back into a glimmering silhouette, ending the sadness lodged in our souls.
On days like this, I imagine an Austenian world; birds chirping, golden light, and a softness that envelopes our world. Everything has intricate edges that bring inspiration to my mind, a melody to my voice, and a purpose to my life. On days like this, I am incandescent in the warmth of the sun, the shadows of the moon, and the glow of the fire. On days like this, I see life for what it is meant, what it has always been, and what it will always be.
This wondrous world, that creates such intricate beings, such wondrous dreams, and the most beautiful scenes, is indeed, the world we live in. To forever see what we’ve been allowed to experience, what we’ve been blessed to have witnessed, to be a part of something larger, to be part of its ever breathing soul. To be touched by the thoughts and feelings of others, to be an intricate gear turning in the universe, is an everlasting dream. Brought from one world unto the next, this universe breathes life into us all. This universe creates the delicate details that we live by, and believe in; the light, our breath that keeps us alive. For in all is good and bad, light and dark, essence and emptiness. In all, is a world yet to be discovered.

missing fencing quite a lot lately…
Speed of Fencing
Behind the bullet, the tip of a fencing blade is the second fastest-moving object in Olympic sports. Speed of Fencing captures the grace and movements of New York’s top epee fencers. Using high-speed photography, amateur spectators will be able to see some of the fastest actions in all of sport for the first time.
I’ve posted outtakes from the Speed of Fencing before, but here’s the actual thing! Very cool and interesting - the mask drop at the end is the best.
